SmartPorts Automation Question

When configuring SmartPort automations, does the port profile need to be enabled for the automation to work?

@PhilipJFry AFAIK (and in my testing), no.

The automation invokes a configured profile. Manually enabling port profile requires selecting one from the dropdown. And at that point the use of an automation is moot as you've statically bound a profile to the port.

The answer is yes.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Btw, new vs. old version of the switchport page gives slightly different info/views which kind of leads to more confusion.

New version. Port profile unchecked, automation configured.

Same port in old view and the automation has already run and appears to then populate the profile field. And, old view doesn't have a profile enabled checkbox at all.
