Search tool commands (list of terms?)

I'm looking for a list of as many search commands within the Meraki Scope of tools (MX, MR, MS, etc.) as I can find - just to learn ways that I could then better organize my Meraki Universe.

For instance, when in Meraki ports list I see that when you uncheck "Has MAC whitelist" the search tool then states "-mac_whitelist:*"

I found this page but it's a small list ... and... doesn't include the idea of "-mac_whitelist:*" and so I'm guessing there must be other references somewhere?

Just wanting to learn more. Thx!

I'm not aware of such a list existing... But if it does I'd be interested in it too! Following 🙂

This sounds like a good job for @CameronMoody to update https://documentation.meraki.com/zGeneral_Administration/Inventory_and_Devices/Search_Tool  with other product families, such as MS.

I'd be interested to know if there is a search for switch ports... For instance: I have a port now that states in the pop-up message "1 Gigabit link failed, speed downshifted".  Wonder if there is a search for ports that are "alerting"?

Oooh!  Found another list for switches: https://documentation.meraki.com/MS/Port_and_VLAN_Configuration/Switch_Ports#Search_terms

The "help" near the Search box on ports lead me here.  Who Knew 🤔

I don't know the answer.

Usually you can reference columns by their name.  So I suspect a query starting with status: might get the answer.  The trick is what to put after the colon.

I tried: "link:100" and it shows me a much reduce list of ports that are slower, including my failing port.

While it's not obvious... it is helpful.

Like this?

That search will work for any "Switches" that are alerting anything... however not when looking for issues on any ports throughout the network.

For instance:

Yup, I gotcha now. Sorry I was thinking about the switch alerts, and I knew you could add the alert column there. For Switchports there isn't an alerting column, so there wouldn't be any way to search for alerting ports 😞

What you actually want would be this API call:

https://api.meraki.com/api_docs#return-the-status-for-all-the-ports-of-a-switch

That will tell you the status of every port on a switch, including the alerting status.

Someday... I could learn API's.  I'm a one-man show for my networks/system here (All things IT).  So that would be another day...

BTW this is the result for searching "link:100": (then the popup while hovering over status)
