@Karla the stack power feature comes from the Cisco 9300/3850 switches and on those you just plug a cable from one switch to the next and loop round at the end. You can connect up to 4 switches in one loop.
To power up the switches you only need one power supply in one switch, but obviously need more to use PoE etc.
It is a fantastic system and one I *wish* was on the MS355s etc. In fact it's about the only 3850 feature I really miss.
Oh, and to be clear you can connect cables with switches on, but be aware that a switch with no power supply or power cable will power up as soon as you connect the first stackpower cable.
