Issue with Traceroute Tool on Meraki Dashboard

Dear All,

We are attempting to run a traceroute from the Meraki Dashboard (Switching > Switches > Tools), but we consistently receive a "no data received" message.

If this feature worked as expected, it would greatly assist us in troubleshooting issues before reaching out to clients.

Ensure the following outbound ports are open from the switch to the cloud.

TCP: 443

UDP: 7351

ICMP

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Please, if this post was useful, leave your kudos and mark it as solved.

Hi Alem,

The mentioned ports are allowed in the upstream firewall

I see the same behavior on switches (both MS and C9K/IOS-XE) when performing traceroute from a L3 SVI to an IP. Doing it to a FQDN works. Also, MTR works to IP or FQDN just fine.

I found an an open bug for this internally marked as engineering pending. I suggest you open a case so they can confirm and link your issue to the bug.
