Device boot reason: power event or other issue freq in MS210-48 model?
Last 2 days no connectivity was showing for few mins it got rectified after 30 mins automatically, when I checked the event log it says "Device boot reason: power event or other". But device uptime is saying more than 20 days. This issue happened yesterday and day before yesterday. What is the reason for this If the switch got rebooted or power disruption was there then the device uptime should get updated accordingly.
Solved! Go to solution.

Did you create a case with Meraki support? They do have access to more than what can be seen in the dashboard.

The switch didn't reboot, it simply lost connectivity to the Meraki cloud. Something between it and the cloud dropped out. What is between the switch and the internet?

This switch is just an access switch (1 among many meraki access switches) which is connected to a distribution switches (meraki). Out of all meraki access switches only this particular switch faced "no connectivity" issue which has happened 2 times yesterday and day before yesterday. This particular switch is connected as a stack between 3 switches in a rack. But the other 2 stack members didnt face any issue at that time. (All are meraki models)

Have any of the devices connected to it shown an issue? As you said, if it did reboot then the uptime should be updated. It might be worth having a ping monitor on it for a few days to correlate with the dashboard connectivity errors. I'd also raise a support ticket as it could indicate something failing in the switch.

I have checked at the time that issue happened, there was no ping to the switch ip address.

@Jobsp to be clear, were you monitoring the switch IP and it dropped at the time the dashboard access was lost? If so, definitely raise a ticket with support ASAP!

Actually i was able to open the dashboard and when I checked 1 switch was showing offline for 1 hour at the time, (all the switches were online), when it showed offline i pinged to that switch then it says ping out.And after 1 hour it came online and it started pinging. There is no issue with the dashboard because I was able to see other online switches at that time.Only for this particular switch is the issue

If you look at the other stack members, do they have any events related to the connection to that switch? At the time the switch was down, were the devices connected to it still working?
