Configuration on MS250-24P

Hello Team,

   Greetings !!

We have bought a  Meraki MS250-24P recently . Installed the switch &  provisioned the switch cloud.

But would like to know the steps to configure the ports to use in local LAN setup for 802.1x authentication

Also ,This shows SSID configurations .Please let me know does it have internal antenna to broadcast the SSID's..I tried configuring SSID but not broadcasting.

Please let me know we can use this switch  for wireless connectivity also, ifso share the needed configurations.

Thanks

As for the switch regarding 802.1x: https://documentation.meraki.com/MS/Access_Control/MS_Switch_Access_Policies_(802.1X)

Unless you've also got Meraki Access Points, it definitely won't show SSID configuration, so I don't really know what you're refferring to with that.

There are no wireless capabilities on an MS250-24P switch.

You configure 802.1x, by navigating to Switch -> Access Policies, and configure the radius server. Afterwards, navigate to Switch -> Switch Ports, select the ports you wish to configure, and click Edit. Then on the drop-down on Access Policies, you select the Access Policy you created earlier.

More about Access Policies and 802.1x can be seen here; https://documentation.meraki.com/MS/Access_Control/MS_Switch_Access_Policies_(802.1X)

Edit; hah - I'm too slow. xD

Thanks for the response .This helps..

I am able to configure the access policies & assign it to switch ports.

How to find whats the ip address of the switch to add it as NAD in radius server .(Do i need to check DHCP server ?? )

Is there an SSH support on this switch ?

You can not SSH to a Meraki Switch.

Perhaps take a look at this article; https://documentation.meraki.com/MS/Access_Control/Configuring_802.1X_Access_Policies_on_MS_Switches...
Perhaps you can use some of the information in here.

You'll find the switches IP address on its information page in the Dashboard. In case of a Layer 3 switch, it will be the highest Vlan interface.

Many customers simply add the whole management network to their RADIUS server so they don't have to fiddle around with static DHCP leases etc.

Hello team ,

i tried the suggestion but not able to find the ip address of this meraki switch...& got the ip address of this switch  from dhcp server & added as NAD to my radius server.

Assigned the access profile to the ports & connected a client to that port.

However  i am not getting any request to my radius server .

Please help me how to troubleshoot whether the NAD is receiving the EAP message from client.

This is first time i am using meraki switch .so if we have a webex call would be helpful

Thanks in advance

New here

I tried connecting a laptop to the Meraki Switch on port 7 and assigned a access profile to it. Also configured Radius Server in Access Polices with a shared secret. However the client connected to port 7 of the switch is not able to authenticate to the radius server as the traffic is not leaving the meraki switch.

Another thing I noticed is that when I try to click "Test" in the Radius server configuration, I am seeing a message "To test the connection, at least one device must be bound to this template network."

On checking the switch profiles, I am seeing the profile name as "Access-profile" , model as "MS250-24 (P)" and Devices as "0"

Please suggest how to fix this so that I can do a wired dot1x with Meraki switch.

Thanks,
