802.1x auth using certificates and username/password

I have a client who wants to use 802.1x to connect hardware to MS wired ports using certificates and username / password. They do not want unknown hardware to connect to the network.

You have to configure an access policy in your radius server using a smart card (Microsoft NPS) authentication:

https://documentation.meraki.com/MS/Access_Control/MS_Switch_Access_Policies_(802.1X)

https://documentation.meraki.com/MR/Encryption_and_Authentication/Creating_a_Policy_in_NPS_to_suppor...

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.
