MV84X License

Hi,
Not sure if this was asked before, but I can't find an answer for it.

MV84X uses the Multicam license rather than the standard MV license. When I configure an MV84X in CCW, I don't get the option to select either MV Sense or Cloud Archive.

Am I safe to assume those features are not available on MV84X?

Hi @AlexCoste

Product team confirmed that both of them, Sense and Cloud Archive, are not available for the fourth-generation MV84X as of today. We will update the verbiage on the KB articles.

Kind of a big deal

The MV84X uses the Multicam license, which is different from the standard MV license used by most other Meraki cameras. This license is tailored for advanced features such as multi-sensor video streams and higher performance.

According to Cisco documentation, Cloud Archive is compatible with all MV models, but I noticed that the MV84X is not explicitly listed among the models in the detailed Cloud Archive compatibility table.

Hi Alex,

MV Sense is only available on second and third-generation hardware, excluding the fourth-generation MV84X.

I have conflicting thoughts about MV Cloud Archive since it states "All MV models are supported," but doesn't list the MV84X. I'm checking internally to confirm this. I'll check in once I have an update.

Thanks.

Fair enough if there is a hardware difference on 4th Gen that makes MV Sense not compatible, but I didn't think Cloud Archive would have the same problem.

I look forward to getting an update on this.

I'm guessing that Meraki are working out how to charge for the archive as essentially the MX84X is four cameras...  In terms of traditional CCTV solutions, if they are individually addressable then it might be four licenses!
