vXM100 in HA mode and cost

I have a Sales rep asking if the vMX100 can run in a HA mode?

I know, I know you can stop laughing at me. but I got to ask.

nothing like paying for a 2nd VM.

Also, What is an average any of you are paying for a VM runing the vMX100. I have had one person tell me its $8.70 at day for them.

Thanks

Kind of a big deal
Kind of a big deal

I've managed to crack this problem recently.

The short answer is to use an Amazon AWS Lambda script to check the status of each vMX and dynamically update the Amazon AWS route tables.  So if one vMX goes down everything will fail over nicely to the other vMX.

I have had my first crack at documenting the process and requirements here:
