What does "in VPN" mean?

This is probably a dumb question but what does the check box "in VPN" mean? Does it mean that Client VPN can directly VPN into that VLAN or are all VLANs inaccesable until that check box is marked?

If you had a VPN tunnel to another site and you wanted that subnet to be visible to the other site. Lets say you have a main datacenter and there are resources there that you need to use from that subnet, you would setup a VPN tunnel between your MX and the datacenter's firewall and change the "In VPN" to yes

So in order for a client connecting to the MX using client VPN, I don't have to make sure that is set to "Yes" in order for that client to have access to that VPN?

That's correct. Client VPN doesn't use the "in VPN" setting - it's only for site-to-site tunnels.
