VOIP Flow Preference Workarounds

We have 2 WAN connections setup with flow preferences for all VOIP VLAN traffic set to WAN2.  With the known issue of flow preferences being ignored when failover occurs, we lose our connections to the voice server when it sends from WAN1.

Tech Support says there is a backend solution coming but we are considering current workarounds to solve.  These include:

1. Off-hour disabling of WAN1 to reset flow connection.

2. Additional flow preferences for most troublesome SIP devices on WAN2

3. Breakout of WAN2 and VOIP/SIP devices to an isolated network/router.

What have others done in this situation that helps solve this problem?

Have you considered moving to use TCP (which is connected orientated) instead of UDP?

We tend to use SIP-TLS (which also used TCP) and that works pretty well.

in this case, we are connecting to a mitel cloud server.  SIP-TLS is in use on the device.  Is there any other way of ensuring the outgoing WAN choice is adhered to or do we have to break it out on a non-LB WAN IP?
