Should MX80 Interfaces Internet + LAN Show as Top 2 (Usage) in Client View of Dashboard ?

I have 1 MX-80, 4 MS220 and 16 APs and around 125 devices (PCs, tablets, printers, phones etc)

When looking at CLIENTS in the Dashboard I now see the two MX80 interface (WAN / LAN) as the top two USAGE clients.

Before today I would not see those interfaces as number 1 and 2 top USAGE I would see PCs as top USAGE clients. What is different is that I moved the MX80 WAN cable from one switch in the network to another to consolidate switches.

I figure maybe this is correct since ALL clients would reach the MX80 WAN port via the MX80 LAN port accounting for both to be #1 and #2 usage clients ?

Is you network created as combined network which contains all of Meraki devices such as MX, MS and MR into single network?

I wonder if it is separated into per product network, the MX could have been identified as a client in the other product (MS or MR) network which reported on the client page (Network-wide > Clients).

I don't know why this happened.

Does your Internet circuit plug directly into the MX, or does it go via a VLAN on the switches?

For @HitoshiH  The Meraki APs all connect to MS220s. the MX80 was connected LAN port to MS220 Ethernet port and the Internet port was placed into the already existing network VLAN port on a Cisco 2950

@PhilipDAthCorrect the MX80 does not connect direct to ISP router but attaches to the VLAN on 2950 switch.

The VAR basically placed the Meraki hardware "on top" of existing local LAN that had no wireless and ONLY static IP devices. They left majority of MS220 Ethernet ports empty sitting next to the the 2950 switches (yes those OLD 2950s!)

Going forward we are upgrading ISP router company from 50M to 100M (Viptela) and assume I should connect MX80 Internet port direct to Viptela and then the LAN port of MX80 into the MS220 VLAN port ?

Are those Meraki devices (MX, MS and APs) in single logical network on Meraki dashboard?

I wonder if they are in separate logical network in your organization on Meraki dashboard, Client page on network where MX is not detected the MX as a single client.

Thanks for sharing the topology to this thread.

I can see the MX80 and others are in same logical network.

If we talk about utilisation of top device on Summary report, the edge MX80 would be listed as top device but I do not think it is expected that Clients page reports LAN and WAN interfaces on the MX80 in the same network as top two usage clients.

It would be good idea to clarify with Technical Support why the status is reported on the Clients page.
