SD-WAN Uplink Changes

Hey Folks,

I hope you are very well,

I have this scenario where it's not working properly, switching to the secondary uplink or the failover with this condition.

Cisco Meraki MX75

WAN 1 = 50% loss

WAN 2 = Healthy (0% loss)

Configuration: Load balancing active and VPN AutoVPN.

Why my WAN 1 is considering an active and healthy uplink in this scenario? My ideal situation is when you have some at least unhealthy parameters like latency, jitters, and so on., switching up to the secondary uplink.

Thanks in advance.

Your link is experiencing some loss but is not completely out of service.

Try disabling load balancing and forcing traffic to go only through WAN2.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Please, if this post was useful, leave your kudos and mark it as solved.

Have you configured any SD-WAN policies? And what MX license level are you at? You would need to create a performance class for loss then use that in an uplink policy rule to achieve the scenario you described.

This example is for VPN traffic.

If this is for internet bound traffic you would need the SD-WAN license and that unlocks the SD Internet feature. It functions the same as the VPN config.

Sounds like you want to configure some SD-WAN Policies.
