Meraki VMX100 in HA licensing question
Hi,
Following the link:
Deploying Highly Available vMX in Azure - Cisco Meraki
It shows each VM set up in a different zone for HA availability.
When we purchased the licences we were told that we only needed one license as in HA only one instance would be running at a time. Does the different zoning effect this? Could we put both in the same zone for example and still only use one licence?
Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. So are we saying that for warm spare both need to be on the same zone? Thanks!

You'll need to license both vMXs, even if they'd be in the same time zone. Only physical MX warm spares don't need their own license.

Meraki MX (Physical Device) is one license per set (Single Device or Warm-Spare Pair).
Meraki vMX (Virtual MX) is one license per device.
Therefore, Availability Zone is irrelevant.
As a reminder, vMX (Virtual MX) does not support Warm-Spare.
