MX84 Firmware version 17.10.2 rare reboot issue

We have identified a self-reboot issue with one of our MX84, this month we noticed it happened twice, though initially we thought it was UPS issue but after replacing UPS, still the issue persists, any idea if this is known issue with Version 17.10.2?
any suggestion for troubleshooting it?
though we have other MX 84 on the same version, but no complaint received till.

@Anukul_Tiwari we had all of our MX84s rebooting every 20 days or so, with 17.10.2.  Upgrading to 17.10.4 appeared to fix it.

Hi ,

Haven't seen that issue in the wild yet but MX 17.10.4 has a fix for :

  • Fixed several rare cases that could result in a device reboot.

And MX 17.10.5 :

  • Corrected a rare issue that could result in MX84 appliances becoming unresponsive after a firmware upgrade.

So MX17.10.5 might help , but I would involve Support to look at the reboot reason ( crash ? reboot ? )

Thanks for the response

I guess that :

Wasn't that rare haha !

You can also get this when the MX is overloaded.  You can check the usage on the Organization Summary page for the specific network it is in.  You want this to be kept under 80%.

@PhilipDAth - Yes I checked that utilization is below 45.

Did the issue get resolved with the 17.10.5 version upgrade? We had Cisco Meraki support recommend upgrading to the 18.106 stable release candidate.

Thanks for any feedback.

@Network-Dude 17.10.4 resolved it, but added some DHCP server issues!
