MX250 Horizontal Scaling

We are seeing high utilization on our MX250.  I found this article but does not include any details on how to implement.  Anyone else tried to do this?

Are you running 18.211.4?  18.211 improved the performance, and 18.211.4 reduced device utilisation.

We are on 18.211.2

Try upgrading to 18.211.4 and see if it resolves your problem.

Or 19.1.5 as the 19.1 train is now a stable release candidate...

Try software upgrades or ease up on some advanced security settings if it is within your security policy to do so. If not the best option would be to upscale your MX to MX450.

You can also try to reduce the amount of tunnels that terminate if its a vpn hub. You can do this by disabeling the active active tunnel on your spokes. Failover will be slow but you can conserve a good amount of system resources that way as well.

I will take a look at the active active tunnel as you suggested.
