MX dhcp

Hi guys, I want to configure DHCP pool on MX locally,  but for same clients I want to relay DHCP packet to Cisco ISE. Because we are doing profiling using Cisco ISE.

We have MX68 as aur L3 Gateway and it will also assign IP addresses for users.

Kindly share some inputs.

Remember DHCP forwarding only worked with a clients initial broadcast DHCP request. DHCP renewals are unicast packets to the DHCP. ISE will never see those from DHCP forwarding.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Hello @Mateen1. Unfortunately, the MX can either act as a DHCP server or as a relay. It cannot do both at the same time.  And, as @alemabrahao has already mentioned, once a device has an IP address, the DHCP process is different in terms of renewal.

So, in that case case how we will do profiling by using DHCP probes on ise ,and same time MX will also work as DHCP server for client.

Did you find a way to do this?
