Enabling Load Balancing on live network

Hi all,  I have 2 MG's connected to an MX unit and the site is currently live and working. i would now like to enable load balancing feature but I am unsure if this would cause any drops / outage for a brief time whilst the system reconverged.  Would anyone know if this would be the case?  Thanks for any advice.

Changes should be simultaneously, existing sessions should not be affected as the MX is a stateful device.

Hello @Andrea_Hopkins,

As a general rule, it is normally recommended to make any dashboard configuration changes during downtime or in a maintenance window. If any unanticipated issues arise as a result of the change, it will not affect live production and can be reverted without significant impact. Additionally, if the changes are being made on a specific model device like the MX84, it is a known unresolved issue that a brief period of packet loss may occur when a configuration change is made on the appliance, as seen in the firmware change log below:

Hi Feli,

thank you very much for your advice.  As you stated, this is to be carried out during a specified window, i was just curious that was all. I did not, however, know about that unresolved bug regarding the MX 84 so thank you for sharing.

kind regards,

Andrea
