Meraki Go offline

When I disconnect my Meraki Go from the internet, the network no longer appears to be available. Why would that be?

I am expecting to be able to set up a wireless LAN. Can this device not do that?

No, Meraki devices require an active internet connection to function

Thank you for the information. That is unfortunate. Why would anyone recommend this device if it can't do something as basic as create a LAN?
