Mac OS Installation Error

I am trying to use systems manager to install App's on my Mac. Its setup in Meraki with the correct profile installed, I can remote access the device and send notifications so the machine is tied to Meraki

When I try to install an App it simply fails with the reason in the activity log saying "error"

Is there a log which has a bit more information?  The event log is just as useful......

Wait, you mean "error" isn't descriptive enough?  LOL.  Sounds like that should be a support ticket just so Engineering can zero in on the actual error and update the error code/message as well as dump something (anything) to the change log or event log.  In the meantime, what if you go to the Systems Manager > Monitor > Clients page, click into that Mac device's page, scroll down to the Apps section, probably click the "Missing" link and then click the "reinstall" button on the far right - anything happens?  Or what if you go to Systems Manager > MDM > Apps and click into the App and there might be a "Push to missing" function, or upgrade/install option.  I'll assume if you go to the Meraki management profile, it's all good (enrolled, compliant, etc)?  Also, have you tried re-enrolling the device, both through the SM agent and the profile?  Just a few thoughts.  I'd probably give Support a shout if still seeing just "error".

This is part of Meraki's mission statement.

Making really power error messages simple.

No wait, that is something else.

@BlakeRichardson I'm working with support on a similar issue, but you can find the m_agent.log in the Console app

@sshort Thank you, I never thought of the console logs on the client machine.

I've checked this out, logged a ticket with support. My log shows the below error which sounds like a permissions issue.

It seems unhappy mounting the DMG.  Can you mount that file manually?  Does it give you some kind of error message?

@MerakiDave if only "error" was enough, if it was I would use it to explain to clients when something doesn't work.

Hello

Same for me into one 10.13.3, show error into dmg expand, a chrome oficial

All DMG directly from original font , seems the path passed to hdiutil is not correct

@Albert_mol I would open a support ticket to document this issue for Meraki, I have a similar ticket open but haven't had time on my end to do more testing.
