The owner just got a new iPhone 11 pro max and the same profiles I have been using for years and even as recently as 3 days ago, won't install. I have tried creating a new profile from scratch (with only the ios activesync settings), but it still gives me an error saying Error: This profile can only be installed on a Supervised device.
How can I get past this?
TIA
@wrx7m With iOS 13, Apple has made some changes with how devices work within MDMs, the fact your profile is no longer working on a new phone, likely running iOS 13, isn't a surprise.
Have you seen this document?

Thanks. Can't remember if the profile was successfully installed on the XS max under 12.x or 13 a few days ago. That link doesn't mention requiring supervised for EAS.
Here is the more detailed EAS page showing that it does not require that the device be supervised-

@wrx7m I just saw that as well.
Perhaps reaching out to support is in order as something is not functioning as expected.
I don't know if support is available outside the community, as I am grandfathered in the free-tier (<100 devices).
Can you make the device supervised to resolve the issue?
You can do this use DEP or Apple Configurator if you have an Apple Mac about.
I don't have a Mac, so that wouldn't work. I just had to manually setup the EAS profile and will have to revisit it later. I am guessing that I will be either subscribing to meraki or going to another mdm vendor.
If it is an Apple imposed restriction in ios 13 it wont matter if you are using the free or paid Meraki Systems Manager, or any other MDM platform. It's an Apple restriction.
You would have to go down the DEP route. Compulsory.
