Enrolling mobile onto Meraki - Asking to encrypt device

I am trying to rollout Meraki onto an Android mobile phone and when I enroll with the QR code, its asking to encrypt the device. Is this normal? I can't see any enabled encryption settings anywhere in Meraki.

The device I'm testing out is a Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) and its running Android 7.1.1

@tombaz47 Did you saw the below document for Android enrollment  and check for all three modes.

When enrolling a device, the device requests and receives a cert from SM. This is used to authenticate the device for ongoing management. You CAN'T use the cert store without the device being encrypted

Secondly, putting a PIN on the device will also encrypt the device

Expected behavior and you really should be encrypting devices anyway 🙂
