Port Management Privileges

Hi guys,

I'm exploring the possibility of configuring Port Management Privileges via the API. Does anyone know if there's an API endpoint for this, or is this functionality currently only available through the Dashboard?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Kind of a big deal

Configuring Port Management Privileges via the Meraki API is not directly supported. This functionality is primarily available through the Meraki Dashboard.

If you need to manage user roles and permissions, you can use the API to handle organization-level administrators and SAML roles, but specific port management privileges are not exposed via the API at this time.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

You can configure switch ports using the API, but not all specific port management features may be available (such as advanced VLAN settings or detailed PoE configurations).

Hi @alemabrahao

"Port Management Privileges" allow us to grant specific administrators the ability to manage (enable/disable, configure) certain switch ports based on tags.

We can configure this on network level, which then we can assign the privilege to the administrators or SAML roles as we like.

I've been searching around the Meraki API documentation but it seems it's not available.

Perhaps I should raise a feature request.

Would you shed some lights @Oren ?

Thank you!
