API call to directly retrieve WPA2 vs WPA3 authentication per wireless client

Hi everyone,

I am currently working with the API and I am trying to determine the actual authentication method used by wireless clients - specifically distinguishing between WPA2 and WPA3 in WPA3 Transition Mode.

Is there any API endpoint that directly exposes the negotiated authentication/security method per wireless client session?

Thanks!

The current Dashboard API does not expose whether a client connected via WPA2 or WPA3 when Transition Mode is enabled. That level of detail is visible via management frames, but not surfaced in the API.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Please, if this post was useful, leave your kudos and mark it as solved.

WPA3 Transition mode is a train wreck.  I'd avoid using it if you like reliability.
