Meraki Systems Manager Agent repeatedly terminating

Hi,

I am seeing lots of 7031 events in my System log. They all say...

"The Meraki Systems Manager Agent 1.0.96 service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this 1 time(s).  The following corrective action will be taken in 15000 milliseconds: Restart the service."

I have attempted to troubleshoot this by referring to the Meraki log in C:\Windows\Temp but I don't know what the issue is. Here is a partial of that log file:

2017-09-14 10:01:41.376373 [017FC980]: check_cert(): !SSL_get_verify_result()
2017-09-14 10:01:41.376373 [017FC980]: TunClient::connect_to_proxy(): warning: check_cert returned false!

I have checked my firewall and Outbound communication is allowed by default.

I am on Windows 10.

Anything else you need to know to help me find what the problem is?

Please help.

Make sure the date and time on the machine are correct.

Thanks for replying but yes my time and date are correct.

We have this happen from time to time as well on some of our SME agents. It doesn't seem to do anything, so we ignore it. I would guess a transient connection issue to the Meraki cloud, and the agent doesn't handle it well and crashes.

I've seen this constantly and have filed repeated tickets with meraki about it. Never seen any response and eventually had to ditch SM on Macs as we saw so many crashes it was insane w/out any response from Meraki's mac SM support team.

It is filling my log with hundreds of entries. None of my other applications are having any internet connection issues and it has happened even after updating to the latest version. This needs to be fixed else I will have to ditch it.

That's seems a little unnecessary. Just ignore the event entry?

Well I could OR...they could fix it?

was there ever an update to this?

Having an issue trying to add a new windows 10 client laptop, log file shows multiple errors of the above along with unexpected SSL error 6 after ssl_read().

There is also the following line in the error log:

parse_config(), strange line in config: {"default_cloud_enrollment_network":575897802350018195}

Not sure if related to issue.

I've uninstalled the agent about 5 times, installed 3 different version and client still not appearing in the SM interface.

Agent version is 1.0.98, have tried 1.0.95 and 1.0.87 - no luck.

All other clients fine.

cheers

We were using the agent on our Mac devices with SM but then one day it just stopped working on all of the devices. I've checked firewall ports, run packet captures and the traffic is being sent and acknowledged it appears the agent just doesn't work anymore.

The alternative is to visit m.meraki.com and enter you 10 digit pin and use the profile instead. A bit annoying considering I have spent thousands on SM licenses.

Our iOS and Windows devices are not affected.

I am getting the exact same issue with a Windows 10 laptop.

My log is filled with the error message: -

2018-09-06 09:32:16.872984 [01CE0AF8]: ConnState::sample_win_common(): NOT ASSOCIATED, not getting net states

And in the Device list in the Meraki Dashboard, I get an unknown device with the device IP address but no other details ever appear. The client sync never completes.

I should note, I have two Windows 7 VM's running in VirtualBox on the same Windows 10 laptop, and they appear beautifully, so I doubt it is a firewall issue.

We are experiencing a similar issue.  Most of our laptops no longer report to Meraki.  On each one of them The Meraki System Manager Agent service is set to startup automatically.  It tries to start then stops abruptly.  We have stopped the service and set it to manual but we still cannot get Meraki reinstalled.  Get an error that a previous installation has not completed.

Meraki install error.PNGCannot uninstall or reinstall Meraki Agent.  Getting this error.

No luck. Ran it but it asks for a Product Key.  No way to find that.  I notice the the Meraki Systems Manager Agent running in Services is v1.0.95.  The upgrade log from 7/17/18 looks like it was trying to upgrade to 1.0.96.  I suspect it hasn't been communicating properly since then.  A ton of logs in C:\Windows\Temp that I can't decipher. Lots of leftover Meraki stuff in the registry, too.
