Is there any way to update my email address here?

My profile here is still using an old email address. Is there any way to update it? I don't see the option neither under My Profile nor under My Settings.

@The1Metallian please reach out to our team at community-help@meraki.com and we can assist with this! We can't change your email, but if you create a new Community account with your new CiscoID, we can transfer your old account history and username over.

If this is tied to my Cisco ID then I'm screwed. Cisco doesn't allow to update email address, which to this day blows my mind. I'd have to create a new one and risk losing information which I'm not willing to do.

 

Per Cisco,

  • Email address changes are not allowed from the user 'Profile page'.
  • Create a new account.
    • A new account may not include former account services, history, certificates, or training.
    • Changing your email address may have unexpected results. Login and/or what you can do after login may be affected, temporarily or permanently.

Hi @The1Metallian, I can understand your concern given that warning. However, if you create a new account with your new email address, it states on the Web Help Portal that you can request to transfer your certifications over by reaching out to the Certifications Team. I can transfer your Meraki Community account history over. I'm not sure about any other information.

 

I'd recommend you reach out to the Cisco team for any questions related to changing your email / creating a new ID and its impact: web-help@cisco.com

They'll be able to address your concerns.

Thanks, but certifications and the Meraki Community account history are minor to me. What about the case history in My Devices, the Cisco Commerce Subscriptions & Services, Cisco Software Central...? As convoluted as it is, because everything should be under one portal and it's not, at least it's there. Adding more confusion to the mix is not what I'm looking for. 

 

My only issue is that at one point in the future I may stop renewing the old domain name and so I will stop receiving emails sent to that address. Then I will have no choice. But hey, maybe by then Cisco will finally get their act together and I will be able to just simply change my email address, like I have done in the dozens of other sites where I have an account, right?
