ISP Upgrade on MX250

We are currently using an MX250. Currently our ISP handoff is 1GB using CAT6. We are moving to 2GB and as per our ISP the handoff will be "hand off changes to Multi Mode Fiber LC connector".

1. Can the MX250 support this?

2. If so, what module / part number would I need?

I've read a few threads where people had problems with this and had to manually negotiate the port speed to 1GB which would defeat the purpose of our upgrading from 1Gbps to 2Gbps.

Thanks in advance.

The MX250 can support up to 10GbE on the WAN ports you use the MA-SFP-10GB-SR module.

Yes, take a look at the datasheet.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Hi @WBOEDAMELIO,

Make sure to work with the ISP, as any SR module may not work. You'll need to ensure both ends of the fiber run match. Otherwise the link won't come up. Wavelength, Core diameter, max distance, etc is critical. Refer to the below guide.
