Facebook media streaming

Hello Meraki users,

I've been trying to block playing video on facebook but none of the settings works.

Is there any other way to block playing video on facebook? I'm currently using Cisco MX67.

Is there anybody here done this setup?

Did you configure the L7 Firewall?

Are you testing with the app or with a browser? Browsers like Chrome and Firefox use QUIC to communicate to Facebook. I think the L7 Firewall does not recognize QUIC.

Maybe QUIC is your problem. Can you test with the app on a mobile device? Alternatively, ou can deactivate QUIC in the browser:

Chrome:

chrome://flags/#enable-quic

Firefox:

about config:

toggle the parameter network.http.http3.enable to "false"

Edge:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

I tried to disable the QUIC on browser it works but the problem is the image doesn't display on facebook.

Hm, I don't understand ... You try to block facebook. You have configured the L7 on the MX and disabled QUIC in the browser.  Images are blockt but the rest of facebook.com is displayed?

I don't block the facebook, I just configured on L7  and disabled the QUIC on the browser. Yes the images from facebook has been blocked also.

Ok, you blocked Facebook Streaming and blocked images are probably an unwanted side effect. Maybe you found a bug in the application filter. I would open a support case for this problem.
