New MG 3.1 beta firmware - IPv6, passthrough and performance improvements for MG21/41

One day after 3.0, we get 3.1.  It looks like 3.0 is for MG51 and 3.1 for the others:

Cellular gateway firmware versions MG 3.100 changelog

Important notice

  • While Meraki appliances have traditionally relied on UDP port 7351 for cloud communication and TCP ports 80 and 443 for backup communications, with MG 3.0 we are beginning a transition to using TCP port 443 as the primary means for cloud connectivity. In order to ensure proper connectivity to the Meraki cloud after this upgrade, please ensure that all “Meraki cloud communication” traffic specified in the Help > Firewall Info page is allowed through any firewalls or security filtering devices that may be deployed upstream of your Meraki appliances. These requirements have been updated on Nov 2022, so it’s important that you review them.

New feature highlights

  • IPv6 support for MG21/41
  • IP Passthrough support for MG41

Bug fixes

  • Improved NAT mode throughput for MG41
  • Improved cellular modem management and SIM detection
  • Corrected issue where some MGs may show the wrong connection type

Known issues

  • This build is currently only expected to run on MG21/41
  • There is an increased risk of encountering device stability and performance issues on all platforms and across all configurations for firmware set as beta

When you click on MG 3.100 and you go back to the changelog of MG 3.0 , they are different from the actual changelog reported yesterday :

Other

  • MG 3.0:
  • First beta image! 🎉
  • Cellular WAN Connectivity
  • NAT and Passthrough modes supported
  • IPv6 Support (Firmware only)
  • Dual SIM Support - SIM slot selection via dashboard/LSP
  • Auto SIM failover - if SIM1 is not present, auto switch to SIM2
  • ZTP via auto APN detection and multi-APN retry
  • Custom APN setting via dashboard/LSP
  • Safemode for troubleshooting
  • Known Issues
  • DHCP section is not disabled in passthrough mode
  • Licensing is not enforced properly on Dashboard. Device shows up as a "wireless AP" on the licensing page
  • Enabling/disabling SIM PIN/PUK currently unavailable
  • Limitation
  • If SIM1 is configured as Primary, Dashboard will not show the details of SIM2 until SIM2 is made active. If SIM2 is configured as Primary, Dashboard will likely have the details of SIM1
  • Changing carrier provided MTU is not available. ECO is available to change MTU only in passthrough mode

🤔

EDIT:  The one and only @cmr had already spotted the issue under : A new candidate cellularGateway firmware is now available on Tue, 14 Mar 2023.
