Just got reply from Support Team. After further analysis and discussion internally, we are hitting a known unexpected behavior due to the MX. This is due to how the MX is syncing traffic counters across its CPU and dashboard. Causing traffic to be counted multiple times when syncing which reflects in high usage being seen and email alerts being sent if configured. Currently our engineering team is working on a fix. Once it has been resolved it will be pushed in a firmware update.

Hi just wondering if people having any issues with reporting in their dashboard. The first one is like this. The 20 minute usage on the xxx appliance network from 09:00 AM to 09:20 AM IST on Sep 2 was 753.83 GB. The thing is that if I totalled every piece of traffic on the network it doesnt reach 25% of that value. We also see issues in the summary reports. There are devices on the Top clients by usage are showing TB of usage when the actual usage is a tenth of that. Also see traffic / usage assigned to devices that are not even on the network and when you click them the device isnt available. A ticket is logged but not getting much feedback currently.

I have a pair of mx250 on our network boundary set with required policies and rules and all is ok. Im looking at creating a sperate network within our network to keep some kit seperate (by hardware) for the rest of the network. I want to have a dmz there between 2 new mx250 to control traffic in and out. Is there any thing special or different I should do with the 2 MX that would suit a dmz / restricted network companed to the setup of mx250 for boundary / isp connections ? Also to make them more secure should I have the dmz / mx250 / switches in the new restricted network in a seperate dashboard in case account is compromised ? Are there any issues with having 2 seperate dashboards in the one site ?

Hi, Im wondering if this is possible. I want to create a VLAN and have some physical switch ports on it and in the same VLAN assign an SSID with 5 APs tagged to that one SSID. The wired and wireless devices would have the same IP range and use the same DHCP. Is that possible and if yes any caveats to doing this. I have a few devices changing to wifi from wired but want to maintain the same static IP addresses and have them all grouped together.

What is the max SSIDs that I should assign to each WAP or tagged group of waps ? Max is 15 ssid for a dashboard network.

Hi I have 50 Meraki WAPs setup with User and Guest SSID on all. Some WAPs are in other buildings and I want to add some new SSIDs to these to look like this. Building 1 - User, Guest, VOIP, CCTV Building 2 - User, Guest, VOIP, IOT Building 3 - User, Guest, VOIP, AV Building 4 - User, Guest, VOIP, Mobile Building 5 - User, Guest, VOIP, Scanners Questions. Am I limited by SSIDs across complete meraki system. Can I have different groups of WAPs setup as above. How do I put APs in a group to enable the above SSID selections on them.

Hi Is there a way in Meraki Dashboard to see recommendations to improve the overall wifi performance. Like Recommendations on power adjustments, channel adjustments, AP Overlap etc... Just wondering as it gathers alot of information if it gives Recommendations to improve the overall health. Apologies if its obvious but Im new to meraki.

Question. Are the following for internet traffic only or do they operate for S2S VPN links too. Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) Intrusion detection and prevention Umbrella protection Content Filtering Snort Rules Also if there is a direct connection to another site (not meraki s2s) do the above rules apply too. Recently seeing restrictions on operations that upto a few days ago worked fine on S2S and now dont with no modifications made.
