@dbl4500 Thanks for your help. Yes I think this is happening with devices I've enrolled recently. I will check if rebooting the device resolves this issue and report back. What I further checked is that the app keeps reinstalling if the activity log status is 'pending' after an app push. This is repeated even when the already installed app is up and using. In my past experience, I think this has happened once or twice after an app push, but the 'pending' period is very long now, and I can see the re-installation stops after a fairly long period of time has passed and it changes to 'success'.

In the same vein, I wonder if there is a way to retrieve the email 'Your Méraki Order has shipped' on the Méraki website. In our situation, several orders were placed on CCW with an error in the email address and we are unable to retrieve the email from Meraki informing us of our cloud Dashboard license key number. Is there a simple way to retrieve them ? NOTE : We sent emails many to Cisco and Meraki support to change our wrong email adress directly on the open orders and each time, it failed. We now received a lot of material from Cisco but we are not able to get the licence key ordered with them. Thanks

Hi @Chizzle It's easy to solve problem. Register by typing 'com.apple.freeform', the identifier of Freeform. Apple's identifier can be found in Apps -> Add app -> Add new iOS app.

Just delete the device from ABM and upon iOS erase or DFU it won't load anything anymore. I've found that Apple has some kind of cache internally whereas even if no profile is assigned, it might load the MDM; so the sure kill is releasing it from ABM (aka DEP)

Hi, Shany, Thank you for your comment. I 've been waiting for more than 48 hrs but still shown as "never" connected as below... I know that Meraki recommended to install both profile and agent, but does that mean that I need to install both agent and profile for my device to be connected? I tried both before and it certainly worked but just wanted to verify how device will be shown in SM if only the agent installed... Also when I installed both, security list shown in left pane disappears, which did not happen when only the agent was installed. Appreciate if you have any insights on that. Thank you,

I understand that the lock command is the same function as pressing the sleep button on the iOS device. If the log shows that the lock command push has been successful, the device's screen turns off and changes to a lock screen. To verify this, you will need to wait and see if the screen on the device does not turn off. I saw this function working before.

Also, iTunes can overwrite any restriction put into place by the MDM. We frequently have devices that have to be restored through iTunes which loads the latest iOS onto the device regardless of any MDM delay we have in place.

You can change 'Name' by selecting a device from the 'Device list'. 'Name' and 'Assigned name' will be changed. In the 'Device list', you can see the name you manage by selecting the check box as shown in the picture. If you turn off the 'allow modification of device' checkbox from 'Restrictions' and check 'keep device name up-to-date with dashboard' with the name change, you can completely manage the device's name as the administrator-specified name. Multiple device names can be changed using API. https://documentation.meraki.com/SM/Other_Topics/Renaming_Systems_Manager_Client_Devices_with_a_.csv_and_Meraki_API_using_Postman_Runner

Ours did the exact same thing on Sunday evening (12/26/2021). I qued the iPad OS 15.2 update for all units, and sent the command. Almost instantly I noticed all my clients were offline. I would be willing to bet the clients were actually down prior to sending the command to perform the update. Most of my clients were back online yesterday (12/27/2021) by around 1200, and today everything seems to be working normally.

So this, to my knowledge, is expected functionality. Home Screen Layout settings are not the same as App Removal settings, as it appears you've discovered. This is important for a number of use-cases, such as allowing personalized layouts while still forcing the presence of applications for troubleshooting or other reasons (e.g. I want every device to have TeamViewer QS installed but don't care if folks keep it on their home-screen since I can instruct them to swipe until they reach the app library view and search for it)

Hey @onebillion , did you ever get a resolution on this? I'm curious as I've got a buddy hitting a similar issue on their MDM solution with an .apk I helped put together. Thanks a bunch! -Dylan

I set the iOS update delay date to 90. This setting allowed to see 'Delayed Software Update enforced' and 'Delay period of Delayed Software Updates is 90 days' in the profile of iPad. I changed this date to the 30 days, but the profile on iPad only shows 'Delayed Software Update enforced' and does not show 'Delay period of Delayed Software Updates is 30 days'. To check the problem, all dates other than 30 days were changed to 'Delay period of Delayed Software Updates is 1/15/60/90 days'. 'Delay period of Delayed Software Updates is 30 days' is not displayed only in the setting of 30 days. The delay setting of 30 days or less should enable iOS update, but the setting of 30 days indicates that the administrator has limited settings when attempting to update the user's manual iOS update. The normal iOS update screen is output when it is set to 15days or less days. This seems to be an issue when the date is set to 30 days. I opened the case to find out the cause of this problem, and it has been 2 weeks. I submitted a request to send a screenshot of the problem and sent it to the my dashboard URL, but I haven't received any solution yet. I tested using Jamf School, which is an MDM from other vendors, but I confirmed that it works exactly as I set it up. Have other community users experienced this problem?

Happy to help! The "Allow modifying account settings" is a very powerful one, as explained by Apple: "Users can’t create new accounts or change their username, password, or other settings associated with their account." https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/mdm/mdm54960f92a/web

Rather than answering the question, I think DEP is set up well but the setting using VPP is wrong. 1. Did you purchase Systems Manager apps and other apps from ABM and assign them to Meraki MDM? 2. Can you see the apps you bought from ABM synced to 'Systems Manager -> VPP'? 3. When adding an app on the 'Systems Manager -> Apps', did you set the puchase method as 'vpp device assignment'? If you set it up normally as above, you will not be required to itunes account when you push the app on device afterwards. Of course, users can log in using their personal itunes account, purchase and install the app.

If problem with authentication, it is recommended that you check the log on the RADIUS server. If you could not find any informations in RADIUS, you may have a problem with WAP. With some customer networks, this problem occurred when too many mobile device is connected to one WAP. Even if the user has not suddenly increased, mobile device remains connected to the WiFi, this causes depletion of WAP Wireless resource. We avoid this problem by power off the device or turns off WiFi that is not in use.
