Hello, community, I have a little problem. I've got two MX67C's, one is HUB and the other is Spoke. Everything works perfectly, all networks are also visible in the VPN. Now the problem. On the Spoke MX I use the built-in LTE modem as backup line. LTE line is also connected. WAN1 status via cable shows active and LTE shows ready. Everything is working. But as soon as I simulate a failure of the WAN1, that I pull the cable out of the WAN1, the dashboard and the internet runs over LTE. But VPN remains disconnected, the VPN routes are shown as red and the VPN connection between the two MX is not established. When I plug the cable into WAN1 again, VPN is established and the VPN routes turn green. Why is VPN over LTE not established? The dashboard and internet over LTE is working. Hi CN: I think, you misunderstood me. The question was whether I can reach the local page without WiFi and before I add AP to the dashboard. Or do I have to connect to the AP in any case via WLAN. Second, your link says: If a Meraki Access Point does not have a configuration from the Meraki Cloud Controller it will instead broadcast a default SSID of "Meraki Scanning." The AP takes an address of 10.128.128.128, the SSID runs DHCP, and it will try to assign any clients that associate with it an address. This is merely to provide connection between a client and the AP to allow for local configuration. The problem is that I don't see this Meraki SSID.

Hi UCcert, I try the following. I am trying to assign the AP a fixed IP via local page. Just like the MS or MX. And that is not possible. Because the Meraki page says that the local page can only be accessed via WLAN / SSID. My question, is it also possible without WiFi?

Can you configure a PSK with less than 8 characters at Meraki? If I try to configure a PSK with less than 8 characters, I get an error message that it should be at least 8 characters. I know it's not safe. But I still ask, can you set somewhere that smaller PSK are accepted. Thanks.

Hi Guys, I have a question. Can you access an MR local page via cable? I know that Meraki says that you should access the local page via WLAN. The problem is, I have a new network with 20 APs, I have not yet configured SSIDs and first wanted to assign a static IP to each AP. How can you do that if the SSID and WLAN are not yet set up? Hi, VLAN was not entered. As I said, MR33 works perfectly on the switch and gets the IP address from the DHCP server. Yes, DHCP Scope is big enough. I tried two things. One external DHCP server and one DHCP on the switch. in both cases MR33 works fine and MR42 does not. I have 4x MR42 and the same problem with all of them. All APs are new and have been supplied by Cisco. The only difference is the power consumption. I'll test it in the company tomorrow morning and give you feedback. AP may not get enough power and cannot boot properly.

hi Guys first of all thank you for quick answers. A few more details: 1. I also tried it with a power injector. Exactly the same behavior. 2. The LED lights up blue. 3. AP is shown in the dashboard as a repeater because it does not get an IP. If AP got too little power, I would understand that the antennas stay off, but why doesn't it get IP.

hi Guys I have a problem. I got a new MR33 and 4 new MR42e APs and should set them up. The APs are connected to a Cisco 2960 switch, switch port is configured as a trunk with Native VLAN 555. VLAN555 also assigns the IP address and comes on the Internet. An MR33 works without problems, it gets the correct IP from the VLAN555 and is immediately visible in the dashboard. Everything OK. But not a single MR42e gets an IP address. Why not? What is different with an MR43e than with MR33? I also cannot access the local page on the MR42e. The way it is described on the Meraiki page does not work. Can anyone help here? Best regards Mamba

Hi Community, Hello, we have a Problem with Meraki WLan and Guest Access with Cisco ISE. Problem Description: Client Access Guest WLAN and is authenticated on Cisco ISE Successfully. The Redirect Guest URL is send to Meraki MR. Client open a Web page. MR intercept DNS and respond with Guest URL. ISE IP is configured in Wallet Garden and Client could open CWA. Login could be entered and is successful. ISE show successful Authorization. A sniff on MR show for Client WLAN Access a successful Radius communication: MR -> ISE Access-Request ISE -> MR Access-Accept After successful CWA Authorization ISE send a CoA Request to MR. Unfortunately the MR answer with CoA-NAK (Error 503 Session-Context-not-found) CoA is enabled on Guest SSID. As a result the MR intercept every DNS request when Webpage is opened and redirect to CWA Best Regards Max

Our customer had received an audit from a data protection officer last week and it is now precisely this point that GPDR is being violated here. That an ambassador in one location can see the guests that another ambassador created in another location. In my view, it is utter nonsense that you cannot stop it. The following is on the Meraki side: Note that the list of Meraki Authentication users is consistent across an organization. So, any 'Network' Administrator may administer any guest user in an organization provided that they have write access to at least one network. 'Network' Administrator is not equal Ambassador Admin !!! What can you assign a certain network to an Ambassador Admin if he can see all users in other locations anyway.

An example for two locations. We created an Ambrassador Admin for each location and granted him the rights only for his location. When he logs in, he immediately ends up in his location and can create the WLAN guests. So far so good. The problem is that under Users he can also see the guests of other Ambrassador admin, which in my view is total nonsense and that is exactly what is not allowed according to data protection.
