Hi Community, I'm trying to enroll about 150 Lenovo Thinkpads into Meraki for device management. While I can see the devices within Network-Wide > Monitor > Clients , I am unable to successfully add them to the System Manager [ Systems Manage > Add Devices ]. I have progressed through the steps related by the Meraki documentation, including the download and installation of the MerakiPCCAgent, but the end result is an eternal spinner with the phrase “Waiting for Your Device to Check In”. [ see attached pic ] I have validated the network as being solid, using both wireless and cabled connections. I have also tried stopping and restarting the service, as well as a few other low impact things suggested on the internet. I should also note that our Lenovo fleet consists of about 175 devices, and 25 are successfully enrolled as devices within Systems Manager. These are all of the same collection and model. The consistent end result resolves to “Waiting for Your Device to Check In”. I have even walked away for the evening, but the status remains the same the next day. If anyone has familiarity with this issue, or options and suggestions, I would be grateful for a response. Thank you Bill K / IT Admin The Spinner Spins

Hi Community, I have a very general and simple question. We will soon be adding and replacing switches, as well as introducing some cable management to our small rack. Q: Is there an optimal design, or correct sequence to power down a collection of MS225's, an aggregate switch, and the MX250 in order to move those devices .. Thanks (see pic) Bill

Thanks for everyone's help. One follow-up question: Is it permissible to change port types on the fly during production hours, or best practice to do so while the system is essentially quiet ?.. (No staff or kids starting Monday .. Spring Break) Thanks again BK

Thanks for the quick reply Blake. We created a new VLAN that is separate from VLAN 1 (pic 1). Also, we are not actually receiving a true error message, but the a page display indicating that we would need to create an interface to make things work. (pic 2). Thanks again for any insight into what would be the correct design. Bill

Hi Community, Somehow, 5 months ago, our local charter school mistook me for someone who understands IT and asked me to be the director...weird. Anyhow, I inherited a small server closet with two MS225-48s cabled to a MS425 aggregate. I was also welcomed with every active port on those 225s being configured as trunk and associated to VLAN native 1. Now, with a VoIP system being installed, we decided to segregate 70+ phone devices to a newly created VLAN 2. When trying to configure Routing & DHCP, I pretty much get the “sorry, but thanks for playing” message. But, I’d still like to get the phones on their own VLAN. I’ve read that the 225s are layer 2 switches and VLANs cannot be created on such, but I’m also wondering if having just “trunk” is a bad design from square one. I appreciate any feedback, advice, or an existing post re-direct. Many thanks Bill
