MX 18.107.2 AMP = Enabled ID&P = Prevention & Security We had to call support to have them apply a patch that downgraded us from SNORT v3 to SNORT v2. It's been about 5 hours with no dropped packets.

Disable for an hour and see if it clears up. Ours was roughly every 20-30 minutes when there was traffic on the network. Extremely frustrating. Also, if you're pinging your local router's interface and seeing drops, that's the culprit. If you're not dropping packets to your router internally, it's most likely ISP. When Snort crashes, it locks up the MX so it cannot process anything in/out, which would affect all local and egress traffic.

"In rare circumstances the intrusion detection and prevention process may crash and restart. In some circumstances this can cause a minor disruption to network traffic. This issue is expected to be resolved through an update to the IDS/IPS container rather than the MX firmware version." Our network has been experiencing these issues, and it's concerning that this hasn't been more widely communicated. I'm quite surprised by this. We've been told that the Snort process is crashing and have been informed that it requires a patch from Meraki support. However, the patch seems to be hit or miss. When can we expect this issue to be addressed?

Yeah I meant a webhook for the actual notification into slack/discord or something. There's no way to get appliance info/packet loss or get WAN1 / WAN2 status using API?

Hi All, Was wondering if it's possible to use Meraki API to get info on packet loss/uplink notifications? Also, is it possible to get notifications for "WAN 1 has been unreachable for x amount of days" ? These would be super helpful. Thanks!

I don't know, it's always spot on for me. I pulled up the stats in task manager under my NIC and saw the traffic matching. Very strange.

Yeah me too. It's supposed to be capped at 450mbps and it definitely is. When I do a speed test, I'm only getting 450-480 (still breaking 450mbps) but when I look at the uplink stats when my internet is being used, I can see it pushing almost 1gig. Very confused lol.

I was downloading a lot of files from Google Drive and decided to check my uplink statistics on Meraki. It was a consistent 650mbps and was jumping to 800-850mbps. I have gig internet but I thought the MX throughput was throttled due to firewall?

Initially, I thought it was a L1 problem but I tried a new cable from Router1 to MS and still nothing. I also tried every port on MS and can't get any link lights - however any other device in MS works fine. There have been no configurations made to Router1 as it's just a normal Verizon gateway that no one's ever logged into but I will try to login and poke around to see if it could be blocking it in any way. Thank you guys for the input - I will post back when I find something.

I have two routers and a switch. Router 1 is the Verizon modem/router combo. Router 2 is a Netgear Nighthawk configured as an AP. I need to put a switch in between the two of them (for my PC to connect to) because the Nighthawk is only letting about 400mbps/1gb through. If I go from R1 to the MS, it won't connect or come online - won't even show any link light activity. When I take that same uplink and plug it into R2 WAN port, it comes online instantly. I checked port configurations/event log and can't see anything. I factory reset the MS and still nothing. It's brand new out of the box. Any ideas on what I may be missing?

I'm going to be upgrading my router soon and was looking at the MX68. Any idea if the MX models will be upgraded at any point to handle more throughput? I have 1Gbps internet and don't want to cap it at 450Mbps 😊

So I don’t want to jinx it but they’ve been up for 12 hours now. I turned everything off, powered up the modem and MX. Saw it go white for a second then back to red. Went into the local config page for MX and set static ip information, saved then went back to DHCP and saved. This coupled with a reboot of modem seemed to fix it. Found that “fix” on reddit and it looks like it worked for me. 🤞🏻

I will try this out tomorrow. I just got some new information that the MX actually used to work a year ago until a really strong storm knocked them offline. Then we RMA'd thinking the Meraki died, but the new Meraki wouldn't connect either. Any ideas as to what a storm could've done? Thanks.

Hello, We have a client that is currently using a Linksys router because it's the only thing that works. About a year ago, we installed a Meraki MX64w and assumed it was DOA. After we RMA'd, we realized the new MX64w we got did not work either. Optimum is the ISP, (naturally they claim things are fine on their end) and everything is DHCP. When the Linksys is plugged in, it brings the network up. Any thoughts? We tried the following: New cable from modem to router New router Configuring different settings in MX
