WLAN PSK with less than 8 characters

Can you configure a PSK with less than 8 characters at Meraki?

If I try to configure a PSK with less than 8 characters, I get an error message that it should be at least 8 characters.

I know it's not safe.

But I still ask, can you set somewhere that smaller PSK are accepted.

Thanks.

No, it is not possible to configure a PSK shorter than 8 characters.

Hi @Mamba123 - If security isn't a concern why not leave the SSID open?

I'm not an employee of Cisco/Meraki. My posts are based on Meraki best practice and what has worked for me in the field.

Thanks, that was also my question.

The WPA2 standard requires the PSK to be at least 8 characters, so this should be consistent across all compliant vendors (including clients), not just a Meraki specific thing.
