Hmmm sort of feels like Meraki is dropping their hardware at the higher end for Catalyst.....

@cmr  Also your heading mentions MS225 however the screenshot doesn't list the MS225

Indeed, though my C9300M testing didn't go as well as hoped...

@cmr Do You have any details to share on your testing?

@TyShawn it’s on this forum, I did it as a sort of mini blog a few weeks ago.  There is some very good stuff (power stacking for example), but they don’t support non IP based DHCP options like domain name and if you press the reset button for about 5 seconds they crash and don’t recover unless you perform a factory reset on them.

This announcement makes sense but I expected it to be another year or so away to give time for the MS130 and C9300-M to 'prove themselves'.

I have a feeling the 250s will happen soon.

So now if we want to plug in a 100mbps device and see an LED indicator, we will need to buy a 200/300 series switch (since the MS130 only turns on the LED at full port speed). This seems like a downgrade in usability.

@K2_Josh which MS130 model are you seeing this on?  I'm sure that the MS130-12X we have doesn't have that issue on 16.7 and we have three 100Mb devices connected to ports 3,4 and 6.  Though I might need to get someone to check now...

This is from the official documentation on the MS130.

https://documentation.meraki.com/MS/MS_Overview_and_Specifications/MS130_Datasheet

Port LED is off if:

"Port is operating at less than full speed. For example:

  • 10/100M on a 1GE port
  • 100M/1GE on 2.5GE ports
  • 1G on SFP+ ports"

I'll definitely need to get that checked visually as we also have a 1Gb device in port 10 so that should also show it...
