Radius Server Hostname intead of the IP Adress

Hello

we have configured a 802.1x authentication for our wifi and lan. Is it possible to put a hostname instead of the ip address in to the field for the radius server. So if we change the radius server address and there is no failure if we have the right hostname with a right dns entry in the configuration. But now there is only the ip address so we have to change it manually

kind regards

Hi,

I believe as of now "Hostname" is not supported.

We need to configure IP Address in the  Radius Server field.

However I suggest an input from @PhilipDAth I could be wrong too.

You need to contact Meraki Support and have them enable this feature on your account.

It is not available by default for some reason.

Hmm I always assumed it wasn't supported so just stuck with IP. Not sure why its not supported by default but I guess thats a question for support to answer.

Due to this post being referenced recently, I'd like to clarify that RADIUS hostnames are only usable when configuring RADIUS Authentication with a Sign-on Splash Page.

For other RADIUS server configurations (such as Client VPN with RADIUS authentication, or RADIUS Authentication with WPA2-Enterprise) only IP addresses are accepted; using a hostname is not currently supported.
