Printer connectes to which switch?

Hello,

How can I determine which switch a printer is connected to; even if the switch is not in the dashboard (because he is older and has not yet been converted, but is actually a cisco switch)...

Kind regards, Volker Boeckl

Look at the ARP table of the VLAN that the printers are in.  Trace through the network using the device MAC to see where the printers are connected

Have you tried running SHOW IP ARP from the switches?

No; but it wasn't the subject of my question...

Replace the old switch with a new Meraki switch.  Repeat.

Thank you, but your answer is useless. It wasn't the subject of my question...

The non-Meraki switces - what do they plug into?  An MX, an MS, or something else?

Hi @MSH , I believe that was meant with a bit of tongue in cheek 😁

No problem. Works a charm every time you need to go device hunting

You could go old school and use a test/toner to trace the wiring if you are onsite.
