So I was where you are a couple of years ago when the community was much less and help from people like @PhilipDAth  was few and far between 🙂   In the end, te only way I could make this work was with a combination of what has been suggested.   I had to use a non-meraki 8 port managed switch and configured 3 ports in one vLAN, 3 ports in another vLAN and one port in the management vLAN, this allowed me to maintain separation from each ISP, but also from the management LAN - TBHWY, if you dont need to manage the switch then you do not need to connect it to anything for management as its pretty dumb once set-up.   The bigger issue is that from an architectural point of view, you have now injected a single point of failure that could affect both ISP's.   Retrespecifly I have installed two Netgear GS105e's (Sorry Meraki) one for each ISP and this way, if either switch or ISP fails then at least service will continue - just for belts and braces (or suspenders for my American friends) I have also installed two cheap USB 4G/LTE dongles (with PAYG SIMS) one on each MX as a tertiary backup - just in case. ... All,   I have just had a similar issues with a large client of mine and having switched from UBNT to Meraki their Chromecasts stopped working, after spending some time today trying to resolve this and also going through this great thread, I just wanted to add my thoughts on the resolution.    We discovered two issues that both stop the Chromecast working, Layer 3 roaming and band-steering, if either of these are on, the CC will not work, so yes, it appears the solution is to create a seperate SSID and make sure these are not enabled and "hay presto" it all works. ... @PhilipDAth Thanks for your insight and I agree I should have been a little more specific over sfp and sfp+ either way and irrespective ot port speed, I am regularly hitting problems because of this.   Your comment is exactly what I am after, the ability to use an SFP port as either LAN or WAN, just like you can use port 2 on an MX84/MX100 or Port 4 on MX64/65   I am already using the switch ports as a pseudo media converter, I guess I could also use the MX100 to do the same.   What media converters do you use ?   TIA ... Hi there,   Just to clarify for all, the devices would be claimed in two totally separate organisations but would only let me add it to one network.   However, for me the issue is also about security and theft, if I have devices that we are shipping from event to event or location to location, we have assumed that as long as they are in our main inventory that if they where stolen then all the thief has achieved is stealing "non functioning bricks", however if this bug persistes then if we lose kit and the thief assigns it to a network before us then they would be able to use (and claim) it and leave us with nothing.   The issue is that I could assign it to a network which would prevent this from happening, but we have more kit than licences because of our business model so this would become problematic   I can share screenshots because there is nothing to show what organisation its in on that inventory screen.   Not sure if anyone from @meraki_ is watching this thread but if everyone agree's this is not the norm, I will report it. ... This is a very interesting topic and I hope "the seniors" at Cisco Meraki are following this thread.   There are many great points raised here including the issue of old equipment and disposing of it in a sustainable way that could also benefit people and organisations that may not be able to buy new.   Also surely every Meraki product in service is one more product in service that is not a competitors and for some people may be the first step on the ladder for an organisation committing to $000's investment.   Yes we all know that Meraki have many ways one can get free kit or try-before-you-buy but some companies either cant or are not allowed to use the routes.   I am at a loss to understand what Cisco Meraki are trying to prevent by this.   On eBay 75% of the Meraki kit is people selling their free NEW unregistered hardware from doing the Webinars about 15% is genuine second hard kit, 5% is stolen (a total guess / assumption and this does not work as its registered to a dashboard) and 5% grey importers, so the true impact of official re-sellers is actually very small.   Again if someone buys a MR or MS on ebay and gets  a 3 year licence from a official re-seller thats 3 years where they will not invest in Ubiquity, Rukus, Netgear etc etc and in my experience will 99% of the time, lead to more Meraki kit being used and licenced.   Surely a win:win for Cisco Meraki ? ... Another thing that may be worth trying is to reboot the MX with only the USB dongle connected - no WAN connection, this will force the MX to use the 4G connection as a main traffic route.   I have done a whole event with an MX connected via USB dongle so I know this works, might be just enough to kick the dongle into working.   I will also have a play with my LAB tomorrow for you to see if I can replicate the issue.   -Gary ... NR,   I have used this solution many times now on both MX64's, Z1's and MX100 with both EE and Vodafone using the Huawei E3372 and its literally been plug and play.   I have just inserted the SIM into the USB dongle and tested it on my Mac and made sure there was no SIM pin and then just plugged it into the MX and "bob's-ur-uncle" its worked.   Where did you get the EE SIM and USB dongle from ?   I got the SIM direct from EE and the dongle from Amazon UK.   When I have inserted these SIM's in other LTE/4G modems / routers the APN's have always self populated.   If you test this on your laptop does it work ?   -Gary ...
