a single MR44 AP for 6500 square feet - will be sufficient ?

Hello

We have a new office in San Francisco measured approx. 6500 square feet (600 Square meters).

10-15 employees will work there simultaneously.

Will a single MR44 AP will be sufficient for this office?

Moreover, we currently have an AT&T ISP router installed, is it that simple just to connect the AP directly to one of the ports on the router and continue from there?  (The AP will get a DHCP lease from the router).

*The AP has already been claimed in the Meraki Dashboard.

Thank you!

Is the office open plan? Will the 10-15 users be sat in close proximity?

With regards connectivity to the router/modem, it should be as simple as you state. Will the router provide PoE or are you powering the AP locally?

The office is an open space, but we do have two conference rooms.

The users will sit in a big area together.

The router doesn't have a POE capability, so we did purchase a power supply for the AP.

BTW

what are the odds that we will need to open ports on the AT&T router?

I'm afraid that the connection of the AP to the Meraki cloud won't be accessible

Thank you for the reply

@Roey1984 it is pretty much a certainty that you won't need to open any ports and the AP should just work.  Personally I'd plan that you might need two in that space, but try one and see how it goes.

Thank you!

That's what I was thinking.

In case i will see any need, I'll add another one.

Thank you very much
