Wireless Health Beta -High Connections

We just implemented a new WLAN and I love the wireless health visibility. I have noticed a very large amount of connections in a not so large environment. Capture.PNG

This is for the past 12 hours. How are connections measure? Devices seen or actual connections? LAN and WLAN ?

It only looks at the WLAN - not the LAN.

I'm not 100% sure - but I would expect it counts the number of successful new connections.  If someone connects in the morning, leaves site, connects at lunchtime, leaves site, connects again at 3pm - I woudl expect that to count as three connections.

That does seem high for just 12 hours.  Is the SSID Open or does it have a password?  Maybe drive by devices are auto connecting?   I'm at a moderately large site and our 12 hour connections is nearer 1500.
