Wired AP's Mesh configuration

I am trying to find out if there is a way or how the meraki ap's work when connected by wire to the a network.

We have around 353 sites and all of them have meraki ap's ranging from Mr18's to MR34's with most of them having at least 2 ap's.

They are connected to a switch and have a static IP configured, once that is done I would expect to see them as mesh neighbors only so the hand off between AP's would be seem less.

If meraki AP's are connected by wire will they still work as if they were in a mesh topology?

APs only need to mesh together when they are not connected to the primary wired network.  If your case they are, so they should not be meshing together.

Getting noticed

the remote APs need to be DHCP not static IP for meshing, but it seems like you are talking about clients roaming.
