Use MR33 without Meraki Appliance

Good day -

I have a site that is not fully transitioned yet to Meraki SDWAN. We are being tasked to send out a MR33 in the meantime since the site is without wifi and needs it. Can the MR33 still be used as a WAP without the MX appliance if I have an ac adapter for power to it and plug it directly into the ISP modem? Will the device still show up in the portal?

Yes, it is. We are using a single MR33 without a MX on a site as well.

thank you. Do you have any specific settings on it? Am I still able to block access to streaming and gaming for it?

Yes, they work as normal as if you would have something else from meraki there.

@SLR  The APs are not dependent on the other Meraki products. As long as they are powered and have a proper Internet connection, they will work just fine.

Cheers!
