Tile locator

Does anyone have experience using the bluetooth in the meraki WAP's to track BLE devices like "Tile"?

TIA!

Kind of a big deal

While I have no experience with them, I do just see them in my Bluetooth clients list. So the scanning API should also report about them.

Location tracking may not work very good in this case.  The APs can only work on when they see a bluetooth beacon being emitted.

From a quick read it looks like the tile responds to a SmartPhone trying to connect to it.  If it sits silent the rest of the time the AP wont see anything.

If it sits there and say only emits a beacone every 30 minutes to conserve power then there would only be a data point every 30 minutes to work with.  I don't know how frequently "Tile" emits because unsolicited - it may not do this at all.

So just make sure you have low expectations of the outcome if you go down this path.
