MR Support Lifecycle

I've done some quick search but what it the approximate life span for a Meraki MR access point. On a similar note when Meraki release a new access point how long do they support that product 6-7 years??

Thanks

Hi @BlakeRichardson ,

Im going to say the lifecycle of an MR must be around 10 years.  Look at the EOL notice for the MR18

Meraki will continue to support an MR for approx 7 years from the moment they announce the device EOS. So bake in some time for product release, sales, EoS and then eol, infact it could be 10-11 years.

Me again.  The MR18 was released in 2014 and goes EOL 2024. 10 years

@DarrenOC I think it has been Cisco'd since the MR55.  The MR55 got the same 7 years, but the MR52 announced on the same day only got 5 years and later announcements seem to stick with this...

Awesome thanks guys, I know most vendors never mention anything officially but its good to know a rough timeframe. I don't really want to buy anything thats about to go EOS.

Personally, I tell my customers 5 years.  And I use that period of time because WiFi advances so quickly that after 5 years it is likely to be 1 to 2 major generations of WiFi technology behind "current" technology.
