Home network - can I connect MR24 through a NETGEAR unmanaged switch?

If so, do I need to change the configuration?  When I plugged the AP into the switch the network no longer worked. It was previously connected directly onto the modem, but I need extra ports now.

 Is the isp a modem or a nat router?

If its a ips modem that just provides  1 public ip you need a nat router.

If its a nat router. Then make sure its in routed mode and not in bridge mode
