Dashboard power values - where do they come from?

Hi,

How does the MR18 ap get the PoE power values being displayed in dashboard?

I am asking, because i cannot get it to show the power when ap is connected to a HP 2615 PoE port - where lldp is enabled like this:

 LLDP Port Configuration Detail

  Port : 4
  AdminStatus [Tx_Rx] : Tx_Rx
  NotificationEnabled [False] : False
  Med Topology Trap Enabled [False] : False

  TLVS Advertised:
   * port_descr
   * system_name
   * system_descr
   * system_cap

   * capabilities
   * network_policy
   * location_id
   * poe

   * macphy_config
   * Port VLAN ID

  IpAddress Advertised:

Kind of a big deal

The power values are negotiated via LLDP.  That is where the AP gets them from.

It uses the "DTE Power-via-MDI" TLV.

It may be that you need a different command to display this on the HP switch, or perhaps it does not have a command to display this.

Thanks. I´ll look into that.

a wireshark on ether proto 0x88cc shows the hp switch does not send ou PoE values.

Reading the hp docs it seems as hp implementation of lldp-med is mostly for VoIP phones and only receiving PoE lldp-med messages.
