Should there be a method to give a logical name to an IP (or block of IPs)?

Should there be a method to give a logical name to an IP (or block of IPs)?

(I have submitted this as a wish....)

Do you think there is value in the association of a logical name and an IP address (or block of addresses) to improve the readability of firewall & Nat'ing rules?

Are there any downsides to taking an approach like this?

This can be done in template-bound networks, and is in fact a pretty integral part of how they function

Hmmm... I have an MV device in my network and it says I cannot use templates with networks including MV devices.

When I have a template, where do I manage the logical names?

You can do this for Systems Manager/MDM clients.

Yes, I would love to see this functionality.  It's one of the only things that kind of makes me miss SonicWall.  Smiley Tongue
