Replacing vMX100 with vMX-M

Hi,

I need to replace a vMX100 with a vMX-M (thanks Meraki!) and have reviewed the guide at vMX100 to vMX S/M/L Transition FAQ - Cisco Meraki

It all looks ok, apart from step 8 - it makes it sound so simple "Redeploy the vMX instance on AW/Azure/GCP/Alicloud/NFVIS."

Deploying this in the first place wasn't plain sailing, so I'm a bit concerned! Has anyone done this on Azure and can speak from experience? Can the new instance be deployed into the same resource group and network etc? I don't want to loose the public IP as it's used in various non-Meraki VPNs.

I have production VPNs in place I can't afford to be down for any significant length of time.

Thanks!

With Azure - that sounds risky.

I think I would do a side by side deployment.  Then move the site to site VPNs over to the new VMX.  Then when nothing was using the old one, delete it.

How did your migration go?

What did you delete and did you keep your public IP address in the end?
