Multiple MX's unable to upgrade to 16.16.4

Good morning all.

I'm seeing some randomness with MX's (different models) refusing to upgrade from 16.16 to both 16.16.4 and 17.x .  After each attempt we're getting the below error.

There are no devices upstream of the MX's blocking traffic.  I believe there's an open ticket with Meraki Support which the customer opened but no response as yet.

Seen that message a lot since 16.x

Sometimes a reboot and then wait a hour work.

sometimes wait a few days and it works

Sometimes i never Pass the check and support has to force it.

If you try to update several networks at once and 1 fails the check you cant update the others. You have to remove the failing network from the update selection

Same here, for me it was always a "ignore it some time and try again" or a "go to a different interims release and then do the large upgrade".

This whole upgrade procedure and the problems with it is one reason a customer recently suggested to kick out Meraki in the next hardware refresh cycle ...

The same issue has been reported in the Japanese Meraki Community.
According to Meraki Go Team, waiting a while and rescheduling may solve the problem.

Thanks for the swift responses folks.... so what I'm hearing its not an isolated incident and may or may not get resolved.

Are you upgrading now, or at a scheduled time and is the MX on.  We had issues with scheduling upgrades sometimes, but if the MX is on, no issues with doing it now.
